Problem
The biggest problem in the geo-spatial domain is data storage given the data boom in the last 5 years and as well as inability to derive actionable insights from this large amount of data. Players in the industry have been looking at the problem from the data origination perspective (i.e. drones, lidar, satellites etc.) and hence that has resulted in the use of multiple software/platforms to come up with a single piece of information. Add to this the complexities and expertise required for every software, this is causing companies to spend enormous amounts of money to maintain this ecosystem. Large data size, manual processing, expert handling, and different kinds of Geospatial data is just adding woes to the problems of the end users and hence creating a demand for a sophisticated product.

Solution
DeepMatrix’s platform provides an end-to-end solution for all GIS-related insights and has the capability to manage different GIS data types under a single project head, giving the flexibility to the user to derive information using all data at once. They are a cloud-agnostic, data-agnostic platform which has scalability and interoperability to deal with other known APIs. Their main goal is to solve client problems and provide them with the exact piece of information they are looking for with a guaranteed turnaround time. DeepMatrix takes only a few days to generate information which otherwise would take months with other tools.
Market OpportunityThe TAM across the industry verticals that DeepMatrix is currently working in is USD 7 Bn in 2023 with the SAM being close to USD 600 Mn.Following are a few highlights of DeepMatrix
  1. Currently working with 6 clients, having an ARR of INR 3.2 Cr with a Gross Profit Margin of 80-85%
  2. Currently working in the Mining, Asset Management and Land and Urban Development Industries with low churn rates
  3. Processed over 1500 sq. km (15L images) for a large scale mapping client in 2 months.

Previous Round 
They previously raised INR 4.7 Cr at a valuation of INR 23 Cr in 2022. Funds in this round were raised mainly from friends and family. 
The investment in Deep Matrix is open through our SEBI-registered AIF Category 1 VCF Angel Fund, Lead Angels Fund. In case commitments exceed the allocated amount, allotment will be on a “First Come, First Serve” basis.
