Currently 60% of the restaurants in India shut down in the first year of operations due to the lack of visibility on delivery platforms, lack of marketing and technical knowledge and high attrition of untrained staff. Such restaurants need additional help in keeping restaurant preparation time low, driver wait time low and the customers ratings high.
Ghost Kitchen helps such restaurants by using a combination of their in house technology platform, ‘Pragati’, and marketing assistance. GK has a totally asset light model, as they use the underutilised resources of existing restaurants, such as their space and man power.
The Indian cloud kitchen market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24% to reach USD 1.9 billion by FY26. It was estimated at USD 800 million in FY22, according to a report by consulting firm Wazir Advisors.
